Why we ask
Folks around here and folks heading up here check this site for trails, snow, weather and what's going on. Put your business in front of them.
We're a very small crew with lifelong ties to the Northwoods. We've lived up north since the '90s, the last 25 years just one county over. Keeping this site going takes time and a bit of money. Ads and sponsors from local businesses are how we pay for it, and how it stays free for everybody. More about us.

Your business name, one line about you and a link, in the sponsor list on the page you pick. The simplest way in.
Logo
Same as a link, with your logo or a photo next to it. Send a square picture, 400 by 400 or bigger.
Box, 300 × 250
A picture ad with a link. On the front page it sits among the cards; on other pages, below them. It's the most common ad size, so you may already have one. Send it at 600 by 500 so it's sharp on phones; JPG or PNG, nothing that moves. No picture? We'll make you a plain one at no charge.
Page sponsor
Your name, logo or box up top on one page, and nobody else's. The brag board and the ice report are a natural for bait shops, taxidermists and resorts.
All lake pages
Your name, logo or box beside the lake name on every lake page, 80 of them and counting, and nobody else's. One sponsor for all the lakes. The random lake of the day on the front page sends folks there all year.
What it runs
Founding sponsors pay half. The first 10 businesses get the price in bold, and keep it as long as they renew. After that it's the regular price.

A year costs ten months: two free. A season is snow season (December through March) or summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day). Want something different, like your own banner, several pages, or the whole winter on every page? Ask us and we'll work out a price.

How it works
- Paying.Check or cash for now, by the month, year or season. Paying online by card is coming.
- Numbers.Ask any time and we'll tell you how many times your ad was shown and how many people clicked it. We count that without tracking anybody.
- Plain and honest.Ads are labeled Sponsor. Pictures and links only: no pop-ups, no ad trackers, nothing that follows people to other sites. That's a promise in our privacy page, and it covers ads too.
- What we won't run.No political ads, nothing adults-only, no tobacco, vaping or smoke shops, and anything else that doesn't fit a family site. We look at every ad before it goes up.
- Local first.We'd rather have the bait shop down the road than a national chain.
